Beacon
Since 1860 a steady light has beaconed from the Jupiter Lighthouse, giving warning and direction to those at sea. A beacon is defined as a light in a fixed location that illuminates, instructs, and inspires. As a spiritual beacon, the only light that we seek to send is the light of God’s Word. The primary message of this signal is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The riches of divine revelation embodied in Jesus Christ are as numberless as the stars and His grace as measureless as the ocean. Every ministry of our church is dedicated to Him and to the lifting of His name to a dark world. This includes reaching people in foreign lands. Beacon supports numerous missionaries, sincerely seeking to obey the Great Commission by taking the Gospel "into all the world." Beacon Baptist is predominately a Bible preaching church. Since we believe the Bible to be the Word of God, the Scriptures remain our text in preaching, teaching, and counseling. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Ps. 119:105
Baptist
The name "Baptist" means different things to different people. For those of us at Beacon it identifies our heritage and our faith. Baptists embrace Scriptural principles as convictions, and do so without apology. These convictions include:
- There is one authoritative source of truth and knowledge. We look to that source in all matters relating to doctrine, worship, and Christian living. That source is the Bible.
- Each individual is to come directly to God for himself.
- God in His love for man, and in His mercy upon man, has provided a way of salvation. That salvation is only in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice He offered on the cross.
Church
Beacon Baptist Church was established in 1956 as an independent New Testament Church. Beacon has never aspired to be anything other than what Jesus called a "Church." Our "meeting place" is a Spanish-style building built by a group of pioneers in 1924, and has long been a familiar Jupiter landmark. Our new auditorium adjoins this historic building, providing additional space for service to God. However, the building is not the church. The Bible defines a church as an assembly of Believers banded together for evangelism, edification, and worship. We love our church because we love people. Our greatest desire is to glorify God by leading people to Christ; people who will trust Him, know Him, love Him, and serve Him!
