| Baptist Missions to Cuba |
Cuba, home to over 11 million souls, and one of our closest neighbors, has a great need to be reached with the Gospel of Christ. It has been closed to traditional mission work for over 40 years by revolution, communism, and dictatorship. During the past several years, however, some good things have been happening on this isolated and impoverished island. The powerful Gospel, that mighty work of Christ, cannot be stopped, even in such a repressive society. Cuba is opening more these days, especially to tourism and to humanitarian organizations. Through these avenues we can visit Cuba, evangelizing the lost and seeking souls, educating new believers in Christ, and encouraging those believers who have persevered. Nearly a dozen Beacon Baptist Church members have traveled to Cuba for short-term missions work. Working along with Missionary Ron Maggard, the church is sending teams in behind the Sugar Cane curtain to reach Cuban people for Jesus Christ. |
